Since we introduced our three subscription packages a number of years ago, we have dramatically increased the number and quality of records on findmypast.com, adding millions of records outside the core Birth, Marriage and Death (BMDs) records  1837-2005 and Censuses 1841-1901 which were our initial focus.

With this in mind, we now feel it is the time to simplify the subscription offering on findmypast.com by offering a single package, giving access to the full range of records across the site. Over time, the number of people subscribing to Discovery and Voyager packages has fallen dramatically, and so the single subscription offering which we will be offering from today will be the Explorer package.

Voyager users will actually save money by moving to this package - the equivalent monthly cost of an Explorer is less than half that of the Voyager package and gives access to hundred of millions more records. For Discovery subscribers, the cost of renewing an Explorer package will be less than seven pounds more than the former price of £64.95 using our Best Price Guarantee loyalty scheme. As an added incentive, we will be automatically converting Discovery users to an Explorer subscription free of charge for the final month of their current subscription, giving them a chance to fully explore the extra records.

We hope this change will not only make the subscription options simpler to understand, but also ensure that all users can profit from the millions of Parish Records, Passenger Lists, supplementary BMDs, Military records and other  family history records on findmypast.com, which they have to date been unable to access, and most of which cannot be found anywhere else online.

If any current subscribers to either Voyager or Discovery packages have any questions, please do get in touch with the Customer Support team who will be happy to help.
