I’ve searched for five years on Ancestry .com for my great aunt, one Anne Wamby(Womby)(Warmby)(depending on the census taker)born in Sheffield Yorkshire in 1862. She was on the Salford 1881 and 1891census’ as a Cotton Spinner, I believe also, that she died in a fire -at that time, she may have still lived in Salford Lancashire, or she may have married and moved on -I suspect, that if she is not on the 1901 cencus
either in Sheffild or Salford, she will have died in between 1891 and
    1895.

Now -if you have her Sheffield born address, and a record of her place
of birth and possibly her place of death -then I will forgo
Ancestry.com and give you a shot at finding my past.

I have been searching Parish Records for Robert Lay born in Middlesex in 1810. He joined the merchant Navy as an apprentice. He moved north to Sunderland and married Charlotte Hunter.
I have not been able to find him in the Parish Records I have looked at but I don’t know which part of London (Middlesex) he was born. I have no clues about his parents or possible siblings.
    can anyone help please?

Have any of the southern Irish parishes published their records from the pre Famine (1840-1845) period?
