We are working on this ongoing project in association with Docklands Ancestors and you can expect to see more updates in the coming months. Find out more about this project here.
Search the London docklands baptisms now to find your London ancestors.

Please could you create a specific link to the updates only? Then it would be possible to search only those, instead of having to go through the whole collection for an area: time-saving and much more fun!
Very encouraging and useful to have the docklands site – only problem, as usual, Deptford has been omitted despite having extensive docks. And no Catholic records given as far as I can see.
Any chance of having more records from the south of the Thames, besides Bermondsey?
Very interesting as there parish records are essential to get back before 1800′s
Is there any chance oh having records from the Bishop Wearmouth/Sunderland area of County Durham (now tyne & wear)
Thank you to Mary Simpson. I too would be pleased if Deptford had been included. It is not always easy anyway to get information about it for some reason. My husband’s family had a close connection with the docks and were leather sellers in that area.
Thank you
The Wikipedia article of the Borough of Deptford says “The growth of the London conurbation had reached Deptford by the end of the eighteenth century but it had been a large industrial town well before this time: the Royal Docks and the Victualling Yard, which provisioned the Navy, and the various private dockyards, meant it was a prosperous and cosmopolitan town.”
Does anybody know when Deptford began attracting immigrants from foreign countries or from London itself? Did Deptford have long-standing foreign communities?
Thank you
