What’s so good about 1911?

1911 is the most recent available England and Wales census – it holds the key to your nineteenth and twentieth-century ancestors. The 1911 census contains information you simply can’t find elsewhere and without it your family history is incomplete.

See your ancestors’ handwriting in crisp full colour

For the first time you’ll see scans of the actual forms filled in by your ancestors. These can reveal the quirks of your ancestors’ handwriting, as well as any mistakes or extra comments they made, in crisp high-quality colour.

New, in-depth information

The 1911 census holds more information on your ancestors than any census before it. You can discover:

  • how long a couple had been married.
  • how many children were born to that marriage (and how many of them had died).
  • details of nationality.
  • more detailed occupational information.

We hope you enjoy the new subscription,

I’m seriously unimpressed with FMPs customer service - see copies of emails first sent 15 days ago!:

Please see comments below, sent last week (27 Oct)

    Hello

I renewed my subscription to Findmypast on 8th October, adding the 1911 census to my original Explorer package. I visit the site most days, mostly evenings and weekends when I’m not at work, but have been unable to access the site on 3 occasions since renewing, most recently this evening between about 9 and 10 pm, and yesterday evening also. On both of these occasions I was in the middle of some research which had to be abandoned, and I continued my research on one of your major competitors sites instead. (I have never had any trouble accessing their site)

I find this level of service very disappointing, especially after spending a significantly greater amount of money on my subscription renewal. If access to your site continues to be problematic, I will seriously consider cancelling my subscription.

I would be interested in your comments.

    Yours

I too am unimpressed with FMP’s customer service. I had 1911 credits and my FMP subscription ran out and I hadn’t realised. I noticed when my credits started going down. I renewed my subscription but for one day my credits for the 1911 were continuing to be used for FMP even though I had renewed. Customer service were no help at all and basically told me it was tough!!
